Integrated Airline Transport Pilot Licence (IATPL)

Montair’s Integrated ATPL course is a highly structured program, approved by Transport Canada, to take you from no experience to airline-ready in a condensed, efficient training sequence.

Students completing from the program will have 250 hours of flight and simulator experience, including multi-crew training as well as having completed the PPL, CPL and multi-engine instrument ratings and the Airline Transport Pilot Licence written exams.
This program is designed for career-oriented individuals who can commit to full-time studies to fast-track their path to the airlines!

This program has been reviewed and approved by the registrar of the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills & Training.

Training costs reflect Transport Canada minimum training times and the program follows Canadian Aviation Regulation guidelines. There are no membership fees at Montair.

Admission Requirements
  • Minimum Age of 17 years
  • Secondary school diploma or provincially recognized equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a Transport Canada Aviation Language Proficiency Demonstration to a minimum of ICAO language proficiency level 4 (note that no other language tests or assessments can be used as a substitute).
    • Canadian citizens who have graduated, or are currently enrolled in a Canadian English or French speaking high school will qualify for an informal demonstration in the language that is, or will be if currently enrolled, indicated on their high school diploma, provided that the Chief Flight Instructor is satisfied that the applicant can demonstrate the competencies of Expert Level 6 English.

**It is strongly recommended that a Class 1 medical is obtained before training is commenced as it is a requirement for final licensing.

International students will also be required to pay a $500 application fee.

Aircraft rates are current as of Jan 6, 2025 and based on fuel costs at that time. Fuel charges may increase or decrease in line with retail fuel prices, in accordance with Montair’s Fuel Charge Pricing.

The TOTAL ESTIMATE is based on flight training being conducted in a Cessna 172 to meet Transport Canada and Montair IATPL course minimum experience requirements. Additional hours may be required to meet Transport Canada flight test standards.

Instruction taken with a Class One instructor will be subject to an additional surcharge.

This program can lead to a career as a Commercial Pilot, which is regulated by Transport Canada.
